Stroke and Epilepsy
Stroke or also called stroke are different names for cerebral hemorrhage or
blood clot in the brain. Symptoms that occur after a stroke can be
paralysis, visual disturbances, speech difficulties, dizziness, balance
problems can also lead to personality changes. The cause of the symptoms is
that the blood does not reach the brain cells, it is important to get care
quickly to minimize the damage to the brain.
Adolescents and also children can suffer from stroke, but most common among
the elderly, the average age for men who suffer is 73 and for women 77. If
you suffer from diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or have a
stroke in the family, you run a greater risk of suffering!
In Sweden, it is the 3rd most common cause of death after heart disease and
cancer
When I was hit by Stroke
2006 September 24, when I was off to Gothenburg, I got a Stroke on the right
hemisphere, which means that I am partially paralyzed and even lost my
speech.
I was in for 2 weeks At first in Karlstad and later I was moved to
Kristinehamn.
During the months I was recovering in the hospital / at home, I started
small exercises, among other things by going up stairs and trying to eat
voluntarily.
In May 2007, I went to rehabilitation in Torsby for 2 weeks.
The rehabilitation went well I was able to perform all the exercises except
keeping the balance and stretching out my right arm.
In July 2007, I started having epileptic seizures.
It lasted from 2007 to 2012 had about 10 seizures annually
In 2012, I started being medicated for Epilepsy and had to test a number of
medications
Since I started taking medication, I have had a maximum of one seizure per
year!
But had side effects such as twitching and shaking in the left arm
In 2020, I received a new medicine which is the best I have had so far.
So far I have not had any epileptic seizures and it has been almost a year
since last.
In December 2021 I had a big seizure associated with a fever and in February 2022 I started having small seizures.
Those attacks continued
throughout 2022.
I tried different
medications the first one didn't work so well, had side effects and
seizures.
In November 2022, another
medication was tested and it has worked very well so far.
It is now the middle of January 2023.
